Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2014
Dear Family & Friends,
It is simply hard to believe that another year has come and gone; however, at the same time, I am glad to see it go. As many of you know 2013 started out very rough for me. I spent most of the first six months in the hospital until I landed in ICU during the month of June. As I barely held onto life, in complete organ failure, my funeral arrangements and last wishes were made. I thought the long battle for my health had ended and my life on earth was over. But Praise God! My time had not yet come! He was not finished with me, and He literally raised me up from death unto life. Now six months later, I have been full of so many blessings, opportunities, ministry, and LIFE! A few highlights include the engagement of Pinky & I to be married, a mission trip to Haiti, becoming Chaplain at Logan Regional Medical Center, preaching the first sermon ever to be preached in the historic first church service held at the State Capitol of WV, and have kept a busy schedule of traveling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and sharing my testimony throughout the land! Nevertheless, with that said, I want to share this message with you:
Throughout the world, millions are celebrating this Christmas season. There will be trees, tinsel, twinkling lights, and gaily-wrapped gifts. But can there be any real Christmas without Him for whom Christmas was instituted? Jesus Christ came to this earth over 2000 years ago as a Babe in Bethlehem. His bodily presence is no longer with us, for He is seated at the Father’s right hand, but being the omnipresent Son of God, His presence in Spirit pervades the universe. His eyes penetrate far beyond the glitter, the glamour, and the festivities of the Christmas season to the heart of each of us. He will spend Christmas with those who love Him; those who have made place for Him in their hearts and lives. These are the ones who have placed their trust in Him, and who know the peace He came to bring. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1).
Life itself is but one long round of despair and anxiety without a personal relationship with the majestic Christ of the Ages. He alone has the power to forgive sins, and thus grant peace to a troubled soul. It was for this purpose that He was born in Bethlehem,…thou shalt call His name JESUS; for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). For the same purpose He gave His life on the Cross of Calvary for us, “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins…” (Ephesians 1:7). For this purpose also He arose again from the tomb, “…raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:25).
To live without Him is forfeiting the only real and lasting joy that is offered to mankind and is also sealing your destiny for all eternity in the regions of the lost. More than anything my prayer today is that you accept or have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior. I ask that you be among the number that love Him, enjoy Him, and serve Him, so that when eternity calls you will then be with Him in the land of the blessed. In the days to come, don’t take life for granted, and remember this promise Jesus made to us, “I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:3).
Much Love & Many Blessings!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
